GUWAHATI, June 7 � Senior officials from the Kamrup Metro district administration, GMC, tourism department and City Police led by Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu today carried out an inspection of the various sites associated with the forthcoming Ambubachi Mela.
The team visited Kamakhya Temple, Pandu Ghat, Sonaram field and other places and took stock of the arrangements for the Mela, scheduled from June 22 to 26. The administration has also banned the use of plastic on the Neelachal Hill and at the camps to be set up for the pilgrims who will be attending the Mela. Four teams have been formed by the civic administration to supervise all arrangements.
