JORHAT, Jan 12 - With prayer on the lips and pain in hearts, Golaghat Police, locals and officials of district administration along with peoples� representatives on Monday bid a final adieu to brave officer-in-charge (OC) Vinod Phangso of Barpathar police station of the district who was shot dead by unidentified gunman on Sunday night at Sungajan area of the district.
Paying tribute to him on the premises of Golaghat Police Reserve Police, officials narrated how punctually Vinod performed his duty of a responsible sub-inspector with valour and how he was popular among all of his colleagues of the State police.
Asked about any findings in police investigation, Central Range DIG Apurba Jiban Baruah said that they were yet to detect the accused person.
