DERGAON, Oct 13 - Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), popularly known as the Accord Refinery, has initiated a self-employment programme for the local youths.
In the first batch, 53 local youths were selected from the fringe villages of NRL and sponsored for four months training at Nettur Technical Training Federation (NTTF), Bengaluru.
Among them, 27 were imparted training under Fitter Mechanical Assembly and 26 were imparted Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator training under the National Skill Development Council (NSDC).
The programme, taken under the Corporate Responsibility Scheme (CSR), was accredited by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The trainees were awarded certificates at a convocation held at NTTF Bengaluru where several officials of NRL, including Chief General Manager (HR) Debasis Choudhuri, Chief Manager (Social Responsibility) Rajkamal Saikia and member of CSR Ripun Saikia were present.
�In the training, the trainees were imparted training for overall personality development with a positive attitude�, Anand B From NTTF opined. The youths who received the training expressed their gratitude towards NRL for providing such an opportunity. After completion of the training, the youths were again sponsored to undergo the three-year diploma course on job-on practical training at NTTF under the National Employment Enhanced Mission (NEEM) at Schneider in Bengaluru.
