NRC update begins in Barpeta

BARPETA, March 27 � With the opening of 178 service centre for the National Register of Citizens (NRC) the process of much awaited updating of NRC gets under way in Barpeta district today.

Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka inaugurated a centre known as NSK in the office of PWD (Rural Roads) and personally experienced the process. She witnessed the process of providing the legacy data for the citizens which is necessary for entering the names in the NRC and requested the people to avail the opportunity of these centre.

The forms for the purpose will be distributed house to house within a day or two. Filled up forms with documentary evidences will be accepted in the NSKs. The Deputy Commissioner requested all the officials and people to cooperate in the process so that updating of the all important document completes peacefully.
