Nominations for Prag Cine Award, 2013

GUWAHATI, March 3 � The nominations for the Prag Cine Award, 2013 have been announced. The Assamese films passed by the Censor Board in 2013 and 20 already released films, many actors and technicians have been nominated for the awards.

Jahnu Barua's Ajeyo, Rajani Basumatary's Raag and Kankan Rajkhowa's Sinyor have been nominated in 11 categories of the award.

Nominations for best actor include Rupam Chetia for Ajeyo, Adil Hussain for Raag and Bhargav Das for Mumtaz and the best actress nominations are Jupitara Bhuyan (Ajeyo), Zerifa Wahid (Raag) and Joya Sil Ghose (Shringkol). The award function will be held on March 22 at Bengaluru and noted actress Mridula Baruah would be honoured with the Life Time Achievement Award.

Best playback singer (male) nominees are Zubeen Garg (Sinyor), Rupam Bhuyan (Mumtaz) and Angarag Mahanta (Bhal Pabo Nejanilo) and Madhusmita Borthakur (Sinyor), Anindita Paul (Raag), Kalpana Patowari (Ranangan) have been nominated for the best playback singer (female). Best music director nominees are Abinash Baghela (Raag), Dhrubajyoti Phukan (Ajeyo) and Anurag Saikia (Sinyor).

Other categories of the award include best supporting actor and actress, best sound, best art director, best make-up artiste and best editor. The award category also includes films made in languages other than Assamese. Karma Ke Raati and Pachinaker Gangajal made in Sadri language have been nominated in this category.
