No Tobacco Day observed

GUWAHATI, June 3 � The Brahmaputra Cancer Care Society, Mumbai, an organisation devoted to helping cancer patients of Assam, observed World No Tobacco Day on May 31, a press release stated.

The highlight of the day was a huge rally with placards depicting the dangers and menace of using tobacco products. There were other programmes also like fancy dress, on-the-spot slogan writing competition for children and a signature campaign in support of the anti-tobacco day.

The Brahmaputra Cancer Care Society, Mumbai was established in the year 2010. It was an initiative of serving and retired persons from Assam with a sole purpose of helping cancer patients of Assam. It supports the patients by providing accommodation with a nominal charge, besides guidance for cancer treatment.
