No ATPA Shield this year

JORHAT, Sept 5 - The Jorhat District Sports Association (JDSA) will not be able to hold the 50th ATPA Shield Football Tournament due to non-availability of the Jorhat Stadium, which is undergoing renovation work. The JDSA, in its annual general meeting, has decided to hold the tournament next year. MLA and president of the JDSA Rana Goswami said the renovation work of the stadium will be completed by the end of this year. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the development of the Jorhat stadium in addition to the Rs 1.3 crore released to the Jorhat Stadium Development Committee by the State Government.
