Newly-elected BJP MLA takes oath in Manipur House

IMPHAL, Oct 28 - BJP candidate Ginsuanhau, who has been elected unopposed from the Singhat Assembly Constituency, was sworn in as an MLA at the office chamber of the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly today.

Speaker Y Khemchand Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-elected legislator in the presence of Forest Minister Awangbow Newmai, Education and Fisheries Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh, Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development Minister Okram Henry Singh, MLA Khashim Vashum and other BJP leaders.

Ginsuanhau was formally elected uncontested after his rival Independent candidate, Chinlungthang, withdrew his nomination papers last week.
