KOKRAJHAR, Sept 7 - Utpal Chakrabarti has been promoted as the new Executive Director (ED) of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Salakati, Kokrajhar, NTPC sources said on Thursday.
Earlier, he headed the Bongaigaon project as the Group General Manager. Chakrabarti joined the NTPC in 1981 as an executive trainee. He has worked in various NTPC projects like Farakka Super Thermal Power Station, Singrauli Super Thermal Power Station, Western Region-I HQ, Talcher Super Thermal Power Station and Bongaigaon Thermal Power Project, Salakati in Kokrajhar.
He joined the NTPC, Bongaigaon in 2010 as AGM (Project) and got promoted as the Head of the Project in 2014. During his tenure, Chakrabarti successfully commissioned Unit 1 of the NTPC, Bongaigaon.
