New Arunachal Governor arrives Itanagar

ITANAGAR, May 30 � Arunachal Pradesh Governor-designate Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa arrived here today to a rousing reception. He will assume office on June 1.

An official release here said that Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, his Cabinet Ministers and senior officers received Rajkhowa and his wife Rita Rajkhowa at the helipad.

A guard of honour was presented to the Governor-designate by the Arunachal Pradesh Police personnel. Cultural troupes also accorded a traditional greeting to Rajkhowa and his entourage.

Former Chief Secretary of Assam, Rajkhowa is scheduled to be sworn-in as new Governor of the State in the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhawan on June 1. He will be the 19th Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
