SHILLONG, Aug 6 - Major General Ananta Bhuyan today assumed office as the Additional Director General of the NCC Directorate, NE Region.
Maj Gen Bhuyan is an alumnus of Sainik School, Goalpara, Assam and NDA, Khadakwasla. He was commissioned into the Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army in December, 1983.
As a brigadier commander, he took part in counter-insurgency operations in Assam. He received a Sena Medal for exceptional devotion to duty.
