GUWAHATI, Oct 9 - NorthEast United FC put up a spirited display to hold the Indian football team for a 1-1 draw in the friendly match played at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai here today. The match was a part of the preparation for the Indian team ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifier against Bangladesh to be held in Kolkata.
Indian captain Sunil Chhetri broke the deadlock in the 36th minute while NorthEast United�s marquee signing Asamoah Gyan equalised in the 44th minute.
