NDRF continues to play its role during lockdown

GUWAHATI, May 2 - Teams of 1st Battalion NDRF today carried out sanitization drives at Sukreswar Temple, Umananda Temple and Hari Sabha here.

The teams sprayed disinfectants on the temple premises and all the entry and exit points. Although all the religious installations are closed in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, day-to-day rituals are being observed by limited staff in the temples.

Apart from disinfecting the temple premises with sodium hypochlorite, NDRF medical teams carried out thermal screening of temple priests and distributed masks at Umananda and Sukreswar temples.

Meanwhile, NDRF has distributed food, masks and biscuit packets to more than 2,200 needy people at various places apart from conducting thermal screening at places including Jahajghat, Uzan Bazar, Bargaon, Changsari, Kuldung, Hirapara, Dhantala and Bijoynagar in Kamrup Metro and Kamrup districts.
