Tezpur, June 21 (PTI): A Nepali-origin businessman has been kidnapped by suspected NDFB militants in Sonitpur district, police said today.
The incident happened yesterday night at Kalamati Naharanigaon area in the district when two motorcycle-borne NDFB ultras picked up 25-year-old Madhab Bhatta Rai from his residence and took him to an unknown destination, they said.
Police and para-military forces assisted by Army have launched an operation to trace Rai, police said.
