National seminar on ethnic violence in NE

GUWAHATI, Oct 22 - A two-day UGC-sponsored national seminar on �Ethnic Violence in North-East India: Issues and Challenges� is being organized by the Department of Political Science of the Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College in collaboration with the Srimanta Shankardev Kalaskhetra Society on October 24 and 25.

The seminar is aimed at bringing into national focus the ethnic cauldron that the North-East has become and to make people aware and conscious about the intricacies of the problem, especially in the light of the fact that the subject has scarcely been explored and deliberated upon. Nearly 90 scholars from different parts of the country will present papers at the seminar, a press release stated.

Prof. Munmun Mazumdar, Department of Political Science, NEHU, Shillong will deliver the keynote address.
