GUWAHATI, May 22 - Technothlon, the International School Championship organised by the student fraternity of IIT Guwahati as part of their annual techno-management festival Techniche, this year offers the mega prize of a guided tour to NASAs AMES Research Centre in California, USA, to the champions.
The competition would be held in two phases prelims and mains. The prelims phase would be conducted over 350 centres all over India and is scheduled for July 17 wherein the students will be divided into Junior Squad (Classes 9-10) and the Hauts Squad (Classes 11-12). Being based on logic, analytical ability and practical observations, the prelims will be totally different from that of any other competitive examination, the organisers said in a statement.
Competition can be attempted jointly by a team of two students where spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking capability of the candidates will be tested. The top 50 teams from each squad will be invited for the final round mains, to be held in the IIT Guwahati campus during Techniche from September 1 to 4.
To provide a thorough analysis on the strengths and weaknesses of the student with respect to the topics, Technothlon introduced a new initiative Tech Analysis Report, which will help the students to know about themselves and enable them to do better in future examinations, it said.
