Nalbari DC urges all to follow home quarantine guidelines

NALBARI, March 23 - The Nalbari district administration will take stern action if people coming from outside the state or abroad fail to follow the guidelines of home quarantine, according to Deputy Commissioner Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury.

Taking to this correspondent, Dev Choudhury said, �Till now, we have been appealing to such people to keep themselves isolated in their homes. We will have no alternative but to use force to make them follow the guidelines of home quarantine for 14 days.�

The Deputy Commissioner said he has instructed ASHA workers to also visit those families for 14 days regularly and observe the health conditions of the family, keeping a distance of at least two metres. If ASHA workers notice any symptoms of coronavirus infection, they are to inform the surveillance officers immediately.

The gaonburahs have also been entrusted to give information on such persons or face disciplinary action.

The Deputy Commissioner has also prohibited all types of markets and haats so as to avoid public gathering. He also directed all shops and commercial establishments to remain closed until further orders.

However, pharmacies, clinical establishments, grocery shops and those selling essential items, petrol pumps, LPG outlets, printing press, fish, meat and vegetable markets while maintaining proper hygiene have been exempted from the closure.
