Nalbari CRPF man among 5 slain in J&K

TIHU, June 13 - Nirode Sarma, a CRPF sub-inspector hailing from Dahkaunia village under Tihu subdivision of Nalbari district was killed in a terrorist attack at Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir on June 12 when he was on duty. Four of his colleagues were also killed in the attack.

Barama MLA Maneswar Brahma and Nalbari deputy commissioner Bharat Bhusan Dev Choudhury today visited the slain CRPF personnel�s residence at the advice of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and announced an amount of Rs 20 lakh to the family of the deceased.

His last rites will be performed at his residence with state honours when the body arrives. A large number of dignitaries and high officials of the CRPF will attend the funeral function.
