Nagaon DC visits flood-hit areas in Raha

RAHA, Oct 1 - Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Kavitha Padmanabhan today inspected the flood-hit areas in Raha and met the affected people to resolve their various problems.

Most of the villages in Raha constituency have been submerged by floodwater, forcing people and animals to take shelter on roadsides and high grounds. The water level of the Kapili, Borpani and Kolong rivers has been rising due to incessant rains.

The villages under Jarabari, Jagiyal, Garubat and Chahari mouzas have been inundated by the flood.

The Deputy Commissioner gave instructions to the officials of health, veterinary and agriculture, and PHE departments for taking necessary steps.

Raha Circle Officer Priyangka Bania and Kampur Revenue Circle Officer Sangeeta Borthakur accompanied the Deputy Commissioner while visiting the flood-hit areas.
