DIMAPUR, Sept 7 - The Nagaland Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers� Association (NRMSATA), 2016 batch, has called off its ongoing stir with immediate effect. Meanwhile, the All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers� Group, 2015 batch (ANATG-2015), has rejected the hike in the fixed pay of ad hoc teachers without regularisation of their services.
The NRMSATA called off its agitation after the School Education Department agreed to look into its demands at a meeting held in Kohima on Thursday.
In a release today, president of the association Sao Venuh and its general secretary Haisoliabe Ndang said the department sought time to examine their demands. The association has directed its teacher members to resume their duties.
Meanwhile, in a memorandum, the ANATG-2015 accused the State Government of enforcing the decision of a salary hike without taking into consideration its primary demand for regularisation of services.
The ANATG termed the hike in the fixed salaries as injustice to teachers who joined service before December 31, 2012. It clarified that 1,166 ad hoc teachers appeared for a suitability test for regularisation and not for doubling their fixed salaries.
