DIMAPUR, March 12 - The Election Commission of India today announced the schedule for the holding of Lok Sabha election to the Nagaland Parliamentary constituency and the by-election to the Aong Ienden (ST) Assembly constituency, Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha said in a release.
As per the schedule, announcement and issue of press note have been fixed on March 10, issue of the gazette notification on March 18, last date of filing of nominations on March 25, scrutiny of nomination papers on March 26, last date for withdrawal of candidature on March 28, date of polling on April 11 and counting of votes on May 23.
The release said the election process would be completed on May 27. The model code of conduct came into effect on March 10 and will be in force till the completion of the elections.
