GUWAHATI, Dec 5 � Nabajyoti Club entered the semifinal of Ortive Cricket Challenge Trophy Championship outplaying City Cricket Club by 82 runs in the first quarterfinal match at the Judges� Field here today.
Winning the toss, City CC invited Nabajyoti to bat first and taking advantage of the batting track, Nabajyoti smacked up 278 for six in 35 overs. Chandan Rawat cracked a 89-ball 117 with 17 fours and three sixes. Pritam Debnath and Parag Das contributed 50 and 41 respectively.
In reply, City were restricted to 196 for four in the stipulated 35 overs. Romario Sharma top scored with 102 while Chanta Kishore Das was the other notable contributor with 51.
