IMPHAL, July 17 The Indefinite bandh on the Imphal-Moreh Highway called by the Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) has been withdrawn following an understanding arrived at a meeting between MCM and government officials.

MLA Bijoy Koijam rushed to Moreh yesterday following the eruption of tension there as MCM protested the alleged attempt to abduct its president and general secretary by suspected cadres of Kuki National Army.

The meeting adopted three resolutions stating that civil society organisations in Moreh will report every criminal incident to the law & order enforcing authorities.

Following the lifting of the strike, local transporters have started resuming their normal activities along the highway leading to Myanmars commercial border hubs of Namphalong and Tamu.
