Month-long training for women concludes

GUWAHATI, Jan 11 - The Women Cell of the Commissioner of Industries and Commerce recently conducted a month-long training programme at the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Bamunimaidam here.

Attending the closing ceremony as chief guest on Saturday, Minister of Industries & Commerce Siddique Ahmed gave away certificates to the trainees present on the occasion, an official release said.

The Minister stated that the present Government has emphasised the need to impart training to women so that they could become industrially-oriented and thus benefit from it.

At the same venue, the Minister also inaugurated a training programme for handicapped youths under the scheme �Multi-disciplinary Skill Development�. Youths will be imparted training on mobile repairing and weaving fancy bags.

Chief General Manager of NSIC, Guwahati Centre JK Mahanta welcomed the gathering. Additional Directors of Industries and Commerce MU Ahmed and Manjula Saikia Bhuyan also spoke on the occasion.
