Monsoon weak in NE

IMPHAL, June 17 - The Southwest Monsoon which advanced on Sunday, covering most parts of the North- eastern region of the country, was found to be �weak over Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura�, according to India Meteorological Department(IMD).

Otherwise, south west monsoon has covered most parts of the North East.

�The rainfall activity was widespread over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya. However, it was fairly widespread over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura in the past 24 hours,� said IMD in a press release issued on Sunday.

Southwest Monsoon was normal over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, it added.
