Mizo Minister tenders resignation

AIZAWL, May 11 � Mizoram Education Minister Lalsawta on Tuesday submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla owning moral responsibility for mistakes in the recent technical entrance tests.

Lalramthanga, secretary to the Chief Minister told media persons that the CM�s office has received the resignation letter.

Lalramthanga said that Lal Thanhawla was yet to announce his decision on the resignation letter.

According to a source, currently Lal Thanhawla is on a tour so he will decide the matter when he returns to Aizawl in the next few days. Lal Thanhawla had earlier said that the question of resignation does not arise on the part of Lalsawta over the technical problems resulting in announcing incorrect results of technical entrance examination.

Meanwhile, the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) at a press conference convened yesterday in Aizawl voiced utmost concern on the retabulation results of the Technical Entrance Test Examination results.

VL Krosshnehzova, president of MZP urged the State Government to have re-evaluation in every paper as they used the wrong answers key for checking the paper.

Meanwhile, parents of successful students in the last declaration of results gheraoed the H&TE office objecting the re-evaluation of papers.
