GUWAHATI, Sept 2 - Mizo Falcons emerged champions in the Northeast Futsal League (NEFL).
In the maiden mixed-gender futsal league which was played in the Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai here, featuring six teams in total, saw Mizo Falcons beating Assam Titans 5-0 in the final held on August 31.
The winning team walked away with a prize-money of Rs 5 lakh while the runner up team got Rs 2.5 lakh.�
Sayantan Choudhary of Assam Titans was named best goalkeeper of the tournament while Lalawmpuia and Jessica of Mizo Falcons won player of the tournament in male and female categories respectively,�
Md Shah Jahan of Apunba Manipur was the top scorer of the tournament with 10 goals.
