Misings of Disangmukh celebrate Ali Aye Ligang

SIVASAGAR, Feb 19 - Ali Aye Ligang, the traditional agricultural festival observed by the Mising community, was celebrated at Disangmukh with a day-long programme.

Groups of girls and boys sang �oinitom� ,�anunitom� and danced traditional �gumrag� in the sprawling Disangmukh public field amidst the Mising chungghars and greenary.

Subhrajit Mili sang a number of �oinitoms� to enthrall the huge gathering.

The programme began with a marathon by under-16 boys in the morning followed by auspicious religious rite� lriggod�.

The marathon was flagged off by Rajani Kanta Panging.

The cultural programme was inaugurated by Narayan Mili.

S peaking as guest speakers, Anil Panging, Head Master, Desungmukh High School and Jagat Hazarika, All India SC Welfare Board, ONGC, expressed their deep pleasure to be a part of the celebrations and wished that everyone would imbibe the spirit of brotherhood.
