GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - The Greater Guwahati Qureshi Meat Association has decided to keep all meat shops closed for an indefinite period from October 15.
The association has alleged that the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) arbitrarily closed three meat shops recently without any prior notice.
GMC sources, however, said the meat sellers in question were found flouting the standard procedure of slaughtering animals and selling hygienic meat.
