GUWAHATI, Jan 17 - Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri, celebrated the 103rd birth anniversary of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi with great enthusiasm a few days back, stated a press release issued here today.

Presiding over the function, Principal of MVM Silpukhuri Manika Goswami, in her speech stated that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi provided us with an effortless technique of transcendental meditation to attain higher states of consciousness. Daily practice of transcendental meditation twice a day for just 15 to 20 minutes enables the practitioner to attain a level of pure consciousness, where he/she can get full support of the nurturing power of Nature, she said.

A meet on Establishing world peace through law and justice was also organised on the occasion. Attending the meet as the guest of honour, Kishore Kumar Dutta, advocate, stated that laws are made to give justice to the people and maintain peace in society. But, quite often, this aim is not fulfilled as legal authorities have to face many hurdles during the process. In this context, only a purely conscious person can become successful in ensuring justice to all, he stressed.

Attending the function as a special guest, acclaimed author and Editor of Sadin Anuradha Sarma Pujari delivered an inspiring speech with emphasis on three important aspects of life happiness, reverence for three Gurus (Almighty, parents and teachers) and gratitude towards the land. Noted litterateur Phanindra Kumar Dev Choudhury, reminiscing memories of his childhood, said that His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, through transcendental meditation, had helped many youngsters of yesteryear to achieve positivity in their lives.

Renowned singer Namita Bhattacharyya and Santvana Barooah, member of Geetikobi Parbati Prasad Baruah Memorial Trust, also attended the function as guests of honour.
