Madhavadeva tithi observed

GAURIPUR, Sept 7 - The death anniversary (tithi) of Mahapurush Madhavadeva was observed at the historic Ramraikuti Satra situated along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri sector at Satrasal village on Monday.

A day-long programme was chalked out including cleanliness drive at the satra. �Puwargit�, devotional songs by women and bhakats, prasad distribution and lighting of earthen lamps was done in the evening.

The tithi was also observed at Jinkata Satra, Gauripur Namghar, Dhubri Namghar, College Nagar Namghar of Dhubri and at Golokganj Namghar in the presence of a few followers with devotional rituals.

ANN Service from Gossaigaon adds: Madhavadeva tithi was observed at the Gossaigaon Sakha Satra.

Naam prasanga was held and ayotis took part in the chanting of the Namghosha. Mokshyada Deka, the chief reciter of the ayotis, led the recitation.

Mahapurush Madhabdev, disciple of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradeva died on this day of the holy Bhadra month.

Sakha Satra advisor Manik Chandra Deka, ex-secretary Bhupal Baishya, advisors Putul Chandra Das and Khanindra Nath Das, and secretary Sankar Chandra Das attended the function.
