Update: 2010-09-15 00:00 GMT

GUWAHATI, May 3: The state government will impose curfew from 6 pm to 6 am during the third phase of lockdown from tomorrow which will be marked by relaxations stricter than those given by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Even though standalone shops will open during daytime and industries and offices both government and private can operate with fifty per cent staff, all workers and employees will have wear masks and adhere to social distancing norms.

People above 65 years of age and kids below 12 years will have to strictly stay indoors unless there is a medical emergency.

Taxis and e-rickshaws will be able to ply but with only two passengers, according to a state government notification.

The government has exempted women employees both in government sector and private to stay at home if they have a below-five-year-old child.

All sports, cultural, political and religious events will remain banned during the third phase of lockdown.

The exemptions will, however, not apply to the four orange zone districts Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Morigaon and Dhubri where only grocery shops, pharmacies and vegetable vendors will be allowed.

Elsewhere, during the curfew hours, there will be no exemption except for medical personnel, media, fire services and government vehicles.

Hospitality services, cinema halls, malls, gyms, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places will remain closed.
