List of 10,000 provincialised institutions released

GUWAHATI, March 5 � The State Government has published a list of 10,000 newly provincialised educational institutions, which would effect regularization of posts of 25,000 teachers from lower primary to Colleges.

The lists of 21 districts each in case of LP and upper primary (UP) schools along with the list of 10 districts of higher secondary schools and eight districts of colleges that have been provincialised are being uploaded in different websites by tonight.

This was informed by Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while talking to mediapersons today.

The lists would be available on www.ssaassam.gov.in, www.tetassam.com, www.lpupteacher.com, www.amtron.in and www.online.assam.go.in .

The provincialisation under the Assam Venture Educational Institutions (Provincialisation of Services) Bill, 2011, would be over by 2015-16.

The list of the remaining districts (LP, UP, HS and Colleges) would be announced in seven days� time.

The whose list districts would not be published today in case of LP and UP schools are Barpeta, Kamrup (Metro and Rural), Kokrajhar, Udalguri and Dhubri.

In regard to higher secondary schools, the list of districts like Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Darrang, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur, Dhemaji, Karimganj, Dhubri, Karbi Anglong, Cachar, Kamrup (metro and rural), Morigaon, Dima Hasao and Baksa has also not been published.

Similarly, the list of the districts like Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Baksa, Cachar, Chirang, Dhubri, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Udalguri has not been released.

The Minister informed that those teachers who are yet to meet the UGC guidelines would be given five year�s time to become eligible, failing which he or she will have to vacate the post.

�During the five years, they would be entitled to the financial assistance being given to them,� he said.

The Minister further added that any appeal or complaint could be registered with the education department at Kahilipara from March 15 to April 20.

Those unable to access the list online would be able to fetch the copy of the list in the office of the education department office of the respective district.

Sarma also divulged that 11,000 more teachers would be recruited in LP and upper primary schools on March 27.
