Lifetime achievement award for Matamgi Manipur director

IMPHAL, June 27 - Debkumar Bose, who directed the first Manipuri feature film Matamgi Manipur, has been conferred the prestigious Karam Monomohan Lifetime Achievement Award 2018 for his extraordinary contribution and dedicated service for the growth of regional and national cinema. The film had received the National Award from the President of India.

He was conferred the lifetime award at a ceremony at the Maharaja Chandrakirti Auditorium, Art and Culture Complex here on Tuesday.

Several Manipur ministers, including L Jayantakumar Singh, Karam Shyam, Letpao Haokip and KN Kayisii, and president of Cine Artistes and Technicians� Association RK Jnanranjan attended the function. Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar was also present.

The cast and crew of Matamgi Manipur, including Aribam Shyam Sharma, were felicitated during the ceremony.
