GUWAHATI, March 10 - Dr HN Dutta, Vice-Chancellor of Global Open University, Nagaland, will deliver a lecture on cultural similarities between Assam and Switzerland at the Kanaklal Barooah Auditorium of the Assam State Museum here tomorrow.

Dr Dutta, a former director of archaeology of the State, has been studying the cultural similarities of the people of the North-eastern region of India and those of Switzerland for quite a long time. He recently published a book titled Asom aru Switzerlandor Sanskritik Pratiswavi.

Dr Dutta said that like in this part of India, in Switzerland too, festivals with cows at the centre, meji burning, burial mound, monolithic structures etc. are there. It seems that people of this region and Switzerland have a similar cultural inheritance.

Prof Amarjyoti Choudhury, VC of Assam Down Town University, will attend the function as the chief guest.
