Kang festival begins in Manipur

IMPHAL, July 10 � Kang festival began in Manipur today with pomp and gaiety. Pulling of Kang, the traditional chariot and offering of fruits to Shree Shree Jagannath marks the nine-day festival.

The main event of the festival was held at the Shree Shree Gobindajee Temple at Palace Compound in Imphal East district and ISKCON�s Mani Mandir on the Tiddim Road in Imphal West district. A large number of devotees turned up at the temple to take part in the festival.
