Kamrup (M) gearing up for LS polls

GUWAHATI, March 29 - The Kamrup (Metro) district is gearing up for the coming Lok Sabha elections with 1,195 polling stations.

Under the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency, altogether 6,000 officials and staff will be directly involved as presiding and polling officers.

Of the total polling stations, 243 are for the Jalukbari State Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC), 404 are for Dispur LAC, 244 are for East Guwahati LAC and 304 are for West Guwahati LAC. In Kamrup (Metro) district polling will be held on April 23. There are altogether 10,70,132 voters in the district.
