GORESWAR, Dec 11 - The 7th biennial conference of Tamulpur District Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilon will be held at the Haradutta Biradutta Kshetra near Maharipara in Baksa district with a two- day multi-hued programme from December 29.
As per the officially approved itineray, on December 29 following the flag hoisting and sapling plantation programmes, ethnic Mahkheda song, Biya Naam and Diha Naam competitions have been organised. The representatives� meet will be held in the evening.
On December 30, a colourful cultural procession will be taken out through the main roads of Maharipara.
An open meeting on the occasion will be inaugurated by Dr Bhaben Chandra Kalita, president of the Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilon. The open meet will be presided over by Biswajit Deka, Tamulpur district president of the organisation.
Dr Ramen Kumar Kakati, general secretary of Kalita Janagosthi Sanmilon will take part in the open meeting as appointed speaker. Minister Bhabesh Kalita will also take part in the meeting as the chief guest along with distinguished dignitaries like Naba Saraniya, MP of Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary. Further, Anupal Dutta Pathok and Bhaskar Kalita, the president and secretary respectively of Kalita Janagosthi Students� Union will attend the function as guests of honour.
In this connection a souvenir will be formally released in the open meet by MLA Satyabrata Kalita of Kamalpur Constituency.
The stage for performance of cultural programmes will be inaugurated by Ganesh Kochary, EM of BTC where popular singer Bidyasagar will perform in the evening.
