GUWAHATI, March 22 � Javed Ali Khan of Indian Railways won the Mr Saraighat title in the RG Baruah Memorial All India Open Bodybuilding Championship held at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here last night.
Altogether 27 leading bodybuilders from different part of the country took part in the meet where Boby Singh of Assam became first runner up. Competitions were held in two weight categories-under 75 kg and above 75 kg.
In the closing function prizes were distributed by Birendra Prasad Baishya, Amit Swami, R Pandian and PR Bose. The title holder became richer by Rs 20,000 while the runner up got Rs 15,000. Top five position holders were also given cash awards.
The meet was organised by the Assam Bodybuilders and Fitness Association under the aegis of Indian Bodybuilding Federation.
The first five position holders are: (Below 75 kg) 1. Bobby Singh (Assam), 2nd Dhiraj Jaiswal (Haryana), 3rd Jatinder Singh (UP), 4th Arindam Dutta (Bengal), 5th S Rajesh Babu (Orissa). (Above 75 kg) 1st Javed Ali Khan (Railways), 2nd Shyam Sharma (Punjab), 3rd NS Singh (Manipur), 4th Gaurav Kapil (Delhi), 5th Nakul Sirohi (UP).
