GUWAHATI, March 5 - The Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited Skill Centre, Guwahati, hosted a welcome ceremony for Satoshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India, and his colleagues on March 3.

The skill centre is the first of its kind Indo-Japan centre in the entire Northeast, where Japanese languages are taught to students and aspirants have an opportunity to gather experience as intern in Japan for a period of three to five years.

Officials from Oil India, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and knowledge partner Nemcare Hospital were also present in the event. The ceremony was followed by an interactive session where the leaders across the verticals interacted with the students of the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP).

The interaction dwelt on topics ranging from career prospects in Japan to the cultural and technological phenomenon Japan has been witnessing over the years. The delegates also interacted with the students.

Suzuki emphasised the importance of believing in oneself if one wished to expand in his or her career. He also appreciated the TITP project team for extending support towards this endeavour.

The skill centre has been facilitating training for more than a decade to enable youths to learn technical skills as well as jobs in India and abroad. The company is currently expanding their operations in Japan to send trained Indian candidates who are willing to work in Japan.
