ITBP aquatic meet ends

GUWAHATI, June 21 - Constable Pankaj Singh Jayla of North West Frontier emerged best swimmer in the three-day 3rd ITBP Inter Frontier Aquatic Championship which concluded at the Dr Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex, Sarusajai here today.

Mamoni Permey, Joint Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam was the chief guest in the closing function. RS Chandel, Commandent of 33rd Bn formally welcomed the guests and gathering in the function.

North West Frontier (93 points), North East Frontier (71 points) and Northern Frontier (58 points) took top three positions respectively in the meet which was organised by the 33rd Bn, ITBP.

Results: (200m IM) Hriday Nand of North West (gold), Ch Nagongo of North East (silver), Sumitro Nath of Eastern (bronze). (50m back stroke) Nishith Ranjan of Northern (gold), Abdul Samad of North West (silver), Balender of North West (bronze). (4x100m relay) North East (gold), North West (silver), Eastern (bronze).
