NALBARI, Dec 11 - Inspector of Schools of Nalbari district circle, Jyotshna Rani Barman, was arrested by a team of vigilance and anti-corruption of Assam Police at her office on Thursday.
The team caught her red-handed while she was taking bribes from a contractor.
According to sources, Barman allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from the contractor, and accordingly the contractor paid Rs 15,000 as the first instalment. During the process of paying the amount, the vigilance team arrived at the spot and caught her.
Meanwhile, the AASU�s Nalbari district unit has demanded a stern action against the corrupt official.
