India rally to hold Bangla

KOLKATA, Oct 15: India rallied to hold Bangladesh 1-1 in the World Cup Qualifier in a Group E second round match at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan here today.

Ranked 104 in FIFA list India started favourites against the 187th ranked neighbouring nation.

But it proved wrong.

Before a capacity crowd of 65,000 Bangladesh went 1-0 ahead in the 41st minute through Saad Uddin who headed home off a set piece.

But at the fag end of the match (88th minute) Adil Khan managed to hit the equaliser. � Agencies
