NEW DELHI, May 2 � Sanctuaries enjoyed by rebel groups of North-East including anti-talk faction of ULFA in neighbouring China has concerned New Delhi, with India taking up the issue through diplomatic channels.
The Chinese Government has conveyed that it would never support armed groups that are against the Government of India, Minister of State for External Affairs, Preneet Kaur said in a Lok Sabha reply.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has stated that the Chinese Government always adheres to the principle of non-interferences in other country�s internal affairs and they do not support any anti-government forces, the Minister said, confirming that New Delhi has taken up the matter with the Chinese side.
Government of India keeps a constant watch on all developments having a bearing on the country�s security and takes all necessary measures to safeguard it. India and China have an annual Counter-terrorism Dialogue under which the two countries discuss these issues.
Paresh Barua faction of ULFA has been reportedly operating out of bases located along the China-Myanmar border, while the elusive command-in-chief is based in China, from where he operates.
Meanwhile, India has said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of the country and there should be no discrimination against visa applicants on the ground of domicile and ethnicity. This has been conveyed to Chinese Government on several occasions and at the highest level, Kaur said.
