IIT swimming meet to conclude today

GUWAHATI, Oct 6 -The penultimate day of the 34th Inter IIT Aquatics Meet at the IIT Guwahati campus today witnessed two exciting water polo semifinals and some breath-taking swimming individual events.

In the first water polo semifinal, IIT Kanpur defeated IIT Madras 6-2. Pallav Kulhari from IIT Kanpur scored 5 of the 6 goals for his side. In the second semifinal IIT Kharagpur defeated hosts IIT Guwahati by 13-2 to qualify for the final.

The final of water polo between IIT Kanpur and IIT Kharagpur as well as the 3rd place match between IIT Guwahati and IIT Madras will be held on the final day of the championship tomorrow.

Earlier, late in the evening yesterday witnessed some exciting matches with IIT Guwahati beating IIT Roorkee 6-5 in a nail-biting match to secure their berth into the semifinals of Water Polo. In another match, IIT Kharagpur defeated IIT Madras 6-3.
