GUWAHATI, June 3 - The Assam Lekhika Sanstha will honour eminent Gandhian, social activist and literature lover Snehalata Chowdhury of Barpeta with this year�s Lavanya Hazarika Memorial Ideal Mother Award.
The award has been instituted in the name of the late Lavanya Hazarika of Dibrugarh by a trust formed after her name. The award is given by noted publisher, litterateur and filmmaker Surjya Hazarika and his family. The award carries a citation, cash prize and several other gifts. Snehalata Chowdhury is the 10th recipient of the award.
