Idd-ul-Fitre celebrated in Nagaland

KOHIMA, July 18 - Eid-ul-Fitre was celebrated with religious fervour in Nagaland as people braved the drizzle and offered namaz in the morning at Idgahs in Kohima and Dimapur.

Nagaland Governor PB Acharya and Chief Minister TR Zeliang have extended greetings and best wishes on the occasion.

In his message, the Governor said India is a secular democratic country and every citizen has the constitutional right to follow and propagate the faith he believes in. Chief Minister Zeliang expressed hope that the spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr will herald in a new era of peace, love and prosperity, and especially wished Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion.
