Id-uz-Zuha today

GUWAHATI, Oct 5 � Id-uz-Zuha, the holy festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated across the country tomorrow.

In Assam also, the festival will be celebrated in a befitting manner. Mosques and Idgah maidans have been decked up for the purpose which will witness prayers and large congregations tomorrow morning.

Governor JB Patnaik has conveyed his greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Id-uz-Zuha.

In a message, the Governor urged the people to celebrate this great festival of Islam in the spirit of brotherhood and thereby ensure that the bond of peace and unity existing among all the people of the State through the centuries is further strengthened.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has wished the people of the State a happy Id. In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the holy occasion would strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie among all sections of the populace.
