Honsen Lyngdoh passes away

SHILLONG, Jan 24 - A well-known entrepreneur, social activist and sports enthusiast, Honsen Lyngdoh passed away here in a city hospital yesterday.�

Lyngdoh (82) is survived by his wife, six children and six grandchildren. �

He also encouraged youths to take up sports and helped establishment of sports clubs in the state.�

An aficionado of vintage cars, Lyngdoh had a fleet of such cars in his�garage and one of his vintage cars, �Ford T1904� which was used by Sir Richard Attenborough in the movie �Gandhi�.�

He was also the Vice-Patron of Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides and was awarded �Silver Elephant Award� for his contribution to Scouts and Guides.�

His funeral would be held at his residence here�on Thursday.
