Home ministry in touch with States on quake

NEW DELHI, May 12 (IANS): The home ministry said on Tuesday that it was in constant touch with states following the fresh earthquake in Nepal and parts of India.

A quake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale jolted Nepal on Tuesday. The tremors were also felt in northern and eastern India including Delhi, Patna, Guwahati, Lucknow and Jaipur.

Teams of the National Disaster Response Force were on alert, a statement from the ministry said.
